What You Need to Know about Double and Trigard Roller Barrier

Roller Barrier has become the primary anti climb system of choice in many situations where safety is critical. Schools, psychiatric hospitals, prisons, young offenders centres, public buildings and many other locations are now enjoying robust anti climb protection without the risk of causing injury.

But while a single row of Roller Barrier is provides more than adequate protection in most circumstances, there are instances where additional protection is needed. This is why the Double and Trigard Roller Barrier systems were developed.

What is Double Roller Barrier?

Double Roller Barrier is simply two rows of Roller Barrier robustly mounted on top of eachother. While a single row presents a robust anti climb barrier in most installations where walls and fences are at normal heights, sometimes there is a need to extend the height and add greater security. Double row Roller Barrier fulfils this need.

Double Roller Barrier uses two parallel rows of rotating cups securely mounted on robust brackets. And cranked brackets are sometimes used to mount the double row at an angle which adds further protection when there is a steep drop on the other side.

Where is Double Roller Barrier Used?

Double Roller Barrier is now widely used, alongside single row Roller Barrier, to provide sturdy anti climb protection that keeps people safe. Schools and other educational establishments have used Double Roller Barrier to increase the effective height of their boundary walls and fences as well as bolstering security at their gates. Double and single row Roller Barrier is also preventing youngsters from accessing flat roof tops, causing damage and putting themselves and their schools at risk.

Psychiatric hospitals and treatment facilities now rely on Double Roller Barrier to deter people from attempting to climb onto rooftops and safely increase the height of their perimeters.

And Double Row Roller Barrier has been successfully used to make previously unsafe upper-storey open spaces safe for families and children to use.

Low perimeter walls and fences around various establishments are sometimes exploited by drug users who easily gain access, out of hours, and leave the grounds littered with dangerous needles and detritus. Double Roller Barrier has been successfully installed in many situations like this, effectively increasing the height of the perimeter and protecting the premises from unwelcome intruders.

What is Trigard Roller Barrier?

Trigard Roller Barrier uses three rows of Roller Barrier in parallel. This system was developed in response to problems and risks caused by Free Runners. They were putting themselves and others at risk by abusing a parapet top and rooftops where they were causing damage.

With Trigard Roller Barrier installed along the parapet top, along with other areas, the Free Runners could no longer use the parapet or the roof areas for their fun.

Trigard Roller Barrier uses cross shaped brackets to robustly support three rows or Roller Barrier in a triangular formation with two rows at the button and one on top. This configuration presents an anti climb barrier that has depth as well as height. The unstable, rotating barrier can’t be climbed on, sat on or stood on and its too close to the supporting wall to allow people to climb underneath.

Where is Trigard Roller Barrier Used?

The unique, safe Trigard Roller Barrier system is now widely used to protect various structure and surfaces from people climbing or sitting on them. Low walls and equipment housings, for example, present almost irresistible climbing opportunities for youngsters and low walls are sometimes used as a foothold to overcome higher barriers. But with Trigard Roller Barrier protection in place, low walls can no longer be used and equipment housings are effectively protected against expensive damage.

Trigard Roller Barrier has also been successfully deployed to interior installations where its used to prevent people from climbing onto surfaces where they aren’t allowed. Prisons and young offenders institutes, for example, have bolstered their interior security, improved the safety of inmates and reduced the stress experienced by prison officers when they have had to deal with challenging and dangerous climbing incidents.

Why Choose Roller Barrier for Anti Climb Protection

There are many reasons why Roller Barrier has been selected as the preferred anti climb solution for prisons, hospitals and schools. The primary reason is that it is safe. Roller Barrier is entirely non-aggressive so there is minimal risk that someone will hurt themselves if they attempt to overcome the barrier.

Another primary reason why Roller Barrier is popular is the fact that it works. The combination of single row Roller Barrier along with Double Roller Barrier to increase height where required and Trigard Roller Barrier to protect low level structures and equipment housings means there is a safe anti-climb solution for all situations.
