Utilising the standard Stegastrip component, and special mounting posts, Stega Rota-Barrier, is an innovative rotating anti climb spike type barrier.
The Stegastrip anti climb spike system uses an innovative design which makes these harmless, plastic spikes look like they are made from wrought iron. The aggressive appearance immediately acts as a highly effective visual deterrent to any would-be intruder or climber.
Prevent intruders - including cats, dogs or people - from entering your property with the versatile Stegastrip Anti Climb Rota-Barrier.
Stegastrip spikes are actually made from rugged, weather-resistant, UV stabilised polypropylene plastic that’s flexible, allowing the strips to be contoured to fit various fences, walls and gateways. The spikes are designed to look threatening and cause a high level of discomfort without causing any harm which is why they work to keep both people and animals from climbing over them.
Each strip of spikes is 50cm long (approximately 18 inches) with a base width of 5cm (around 2 inches) and a spike height of 6cm (approximately 2.4 inches). The versatile, flexible strips can be fixed to both straight, flat surfaces along with contoured surfaces such as curved gateways. The Stegastrip rotating anti-climb barrier uses 2 x 50cm Stegastrips, mounted back to back on support posts, for every 0.5 metres of barrier.
Stegastrip Rota-Barrier Installation
Stegastrip anti climb spikes can be easily installed by a person with basic DIY skills and a few simple tools. To form the rotating anti climb barrier 2 x 50cm Stegastrips are screwed together, back to back, via the pre-drilled mounting holes (16mm screws are recommended). This forms a central tube which is the axle of the rotating barrier. This must be supported at each end by a support post. For a simple 1 metre length, a pack of 4 Stegastrips is required which includes 3 support posts.
Support posts are needed every 500mm. A continuous, straight length of Stegabarrier, without any variation in fence height, is called a 'run'. Stegastrips sections can be easily combined, end to end, to form rotating anti climb barriers of any required 'run' length. If an installation needs to accommodate corners or other non-straight variations, additional supporting end posts would be needed.
Stegastrip is manufactured in the UK from strengthened, UV stabilised polypropylene which allows the strips to be cut to size using a sharp knife or fine toothed saw.

Safety – As for other forms of aggressive or spiked anti climb barriers, installing Stegastrip at a height below head height is not recommended.
Warning Signs – To satisfy the requirements of the Occupiers Liability Act and regional safety requirements - appropriate, high visibility warning signs should be displayed wherever Stegastrip is installed. (Note: Warning signs are not normally required for domestic installations except in areas where Stegastrip is installed on a boundary wall, fence, gateway etc., bordering onto a public thoroughfare, or common, public land.)
The essence of legislation regarding anti climb barriers generally requires the presence of any potentially hazardous materials or obstacles to be clearly identified to persons (lawfully or unlawfully in the area) who may come into contact with them. The prominent presentation of appropriate warning signage fulfils these requirements.
